You sit down, and five minutes later you're hearing about yesterday. Then last week. One problem has turned into five. If that sounds familiar, "Ngomel Dulu" ("Nag First") is for you. It's a bouncy Indonesian pop song about the person who always complains first, then misses you the most.
The story behind the song
This is our reading of the lyrics. The song is told by someone who can't get a word in. He hasn't even said hello, and his partner already has "a thousand questions." He didn't answer his phone because he was in the shower. "Excuses again!" she says. He just laughs.
Verse 2 moves to the small stuff every couple knows. He buys the wrong food: she ordered spicy and he got the regular one. They swap plates. Then she "just tries" his food, and five minutes later his plate is empty, and she asks why the portion was so small.
The song never turns any of this into a real fight. The arguments are about hal receh, trivial things, and they're forgotten as soon as both of them start laughing. The turn comes in the pre-chorus: if he goes a single day without hearing her voice, he's the one looking for attention. And when he gets up to leave, she's the one saying "don't go yet." The nagging is how she shows she cares, and the chorus ends with the punchline: right after the scolding comes "Peluk aku!", "Hug me!"

About the video
The official lyric video is drawn in a bright, comic-book cartoon style, with halftone dots, burst backgrounds, lightning bolts and bold pop colours: yellow, coral, pink and teal. It follows a young couple. She's in a red hoodie and is always mid-rant. He's in a yellow jacket, plugging his ears and grinning. Scene by scene, the video acts out the lyrics: the sofa where the lecture starts, the missed call while he's in the shower, a storm of question marks, the wrong-food swap and the stolen plate, a quiet night scene where they miss each other, her "don't go yet" at the door, and a hug at the end. The lyrics bounce on screen in time with the 136 BPM beat, and during the chorus the cuts speed up to match the hook.
